NEWRY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's freeski/snowboard teams opened the 2025–26 season on Saturday morning, competing in a USASA rail jam event at Sunday River.
The event was divided by gender, discipline, and age group. Farmington had athletes compete in the Snowboard Senior (19–29) Men, Freeski Senior (19–29) Men, and Freeski Senior (19–29) Women divisions.
In the Snowboard Senior (19–29) Men division, senior Jackson Boudreau (Gardiner, Maine) was the lone Beaver competitor. Boudreau topped the field to earn the gold medal.
Farmington had four athletes compete in the Freeski Senior (19–29) Men division, with Dylan Gagnon (Hudson, N.H.), Clay Gregg (Mapleton, Maine), Maxwell Hamilton (Brunswick, Maine), and Arden Weaver (Surry, Maine) representing the Beavers. Weaver, a USCSA Rail Jam All-American, earned the gold medal. Hamilton, also a USCSA All-American, took home silver, while Gregg finished third to claim bronze. Gagnon narrowly missed the podium with a fourth-place finish.
In the Freeski Senior (19–29) Women division, sophomore Natalee McKenzie (Carrabassett Valley, Maine) topped the field to earn gold. McKenzie is the reigning USCSA Rail Jam National Champion after capturing the title a season ago.
