Reynolds Continues Streak, Wins 4th Straight NAC Defensive Player of the Week

WATERVILLE, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington junior standout Jason Reynolds (Winslow, Maine) continued his incredible run of play last week, helping the Beavers to a 2-1 record, and was rewarded with his fourth consecutive Defensive Player of the Week award, the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) office announced Monday afternoon.

Reynolds had a monster week on both ends of the floor, recording three more double-doubles to bring his season total to 10 and extend his streak to eight. Over the three games, Reynolds averaged 18.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game while shooting 52.8% from the floor and 52.4% from beyond the arc.

On Wednesday, in Farmington's three-point loss on the road against the University of Southern Maine, Reynolds piled up 19 points and 12 rebounds, along with three steals, in 30 minutes of action.

Against the University of Maine at Presque Isle on Friday, Reynolds battled foul trouble but still registered a 17-point, 10-rebound double-double in just 15 minutes of action. He shot 7-of-10 from the floor and 3-of-6 from beyond the arc in the Beavers' 87–49 victory.

In Farmington's win over Husson University, Reynolds totaled 20 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists while connecting on 5-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Through 12 games, Reynolds is averaging 15.5 points and 12.5 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 46.7% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc. Reynolds currently leads the nation in total rebounds (150), is tied for the lead in double-doubles (10), and ranks fifth nationally in rebounds per game (12.5).
