RANGELEY, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's and women's freeski and snowboard teams wrapped up their weekend at Saddleback Mountain with a rail jam on Saturday afternoon.
Arden Weaver (Surry, Maine) earned the bronze medal in the freeski division, securing third place in a competitive 34-person field. Weaver capped off his weekend in style, having won the gold medal in Friday's slopestyle event.
Zach Chaisson (Scarborough, Maine) and Dominique Richard (Lewiston, Maine) also finished in the top ten of the freeski division. Chaisson placed seventh, while Richard took tenth.
The day's competition was split into heats. In the heat featuring 15-22-year-old women's snowboarders, men's snowboarders, and women's freeskiers, sophomore Avery Ver Wey (Bridgton, Maine) topped the field, claiming first place. Tegan Andrew (Goffstown, N.H.) placed fourth, Kyle Ingalls (Bowdoin, Maine) finished fifth, Caelan Billings (Sullivan, Maine) took seventh, and Jackson Boudreau (Gardiner, Maine) placed ninth.
