Five Softball Student-Athletes Receive College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Honors

FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington softball team is proud to announce that five of its standout student-athletes have been named to the prestigious 2025 CSC Academic All-District Softball Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). This honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

Earning this distinguished recognition for the Beavers are sophomores Jojo Daigneault (Canton, Conn.), Jessica Dow (Saco, Maine), and Melissa Mayo (Bridgton, Maine), along with seniors Christa Allen (Harrison, Maine) and Katie Morse (Dixfield, Maine).

To qualify for the CSC Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in class standing, maintain a minimum 3.50 GPA, and meet playing-time standards (starting in at least 66% of games or appearing in 90% of games). For pitchers, they must have logged at least 35 innings or appeared in 17 games.


Christa Allen (Sr.) – A two-time Academic All-District honoree, Allen capped her career in style as a key hitter in the middle of the Beavers lineup. She appeared in 31 games (29 starts), posting a .370 average and .404 OBP, with 34 hits, 7 doubles, 2 home runs, 22 runs, and 20 RBIs. She also led the team with 47 total bases. Allen recently graduated with a degree in Business Administration.

Jojo Daigneault (So.) – The Beavers' starting center fielder, Daigneault appeared in 32 of 34 games. She hit .259 with a .371 OBP, adding a triple, a home run, and 12 RBIs. She scored 19 runs and led the team with 15 walks. Defensively, she made just 2 errors in 46 chances (.957 fielding percentage). Daigneault is majoring in Health Promotion and Wellness.

Jessica Dow (So.) – The Beavers' right fielder for the past two seasons, Dow was an offensive force in 2025. She led the team with a .388 average and a .413 OBP. Dow collected 33 hits, 6 doubles, 1 home run, 19 RBIs, 25 runs, and 7 stolen bases. She was nearly flawless in the field, with a .980 fielding percentage. Dow is majoring in Secondary Education - Physical Education.

Melissa Mayo (So.) – A dynamic two-way player, Mayo appeared in 32 games (27 starts), contributing both as an outfielder and pitcher. At the plate, she hit .275 with a .354 OBP, 6 doubles, a team-high 3 triples, 12 RBIs, and 19 runs. On the mound, she pitched 62.2 innings, tallying 3 complete games and 28 strikeouts. Mayo led the team with 9 stolen bases. Mayo is a Actuarial Science major.

Katie Morse (Sr.) – A steady presence at first base, Morse posted a .303 average and .368 OBP with 4 doubles, 2 triples, 2 home runs, 15 RBIs, and 20 runs scored. Defensively, she finished the season with a .968 fielding percentage (6 errors in 187 chances). Similarly to Allen, Morse graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration earlier this month.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 17, 2025.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
