KANSAS CITY, Missouri – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the recipients of the 2024–25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and the NABC Honors Court on Thursday afternoon, recognizing outstanding academic achievement by men's college basketball teams and individual student-athletes. The University of Maine at Farmington men's basketball team, along with five of its players, earned these prestigious honors.
The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards are presented to programs that finished the 2024–25 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. To be named to the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must be of junior standing or above and must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher by the end of the academic year.
From Farmington, Simon Chadbourne (Portland, Maine), Dylan Griffin (Saco, Maine), Will Harriman (Biddeford, Maine), Patrick McKenney (Newcastle, Maine), and Aidan O'Connell (Camden, Maine) were recognized on the NABC Honors Court.
Chadbourne, Griffin, and Harriman each graduated this past spring, while McKenney and O'Connell will be entering their senior years at Farmington. Chadbourne earned a degree in Business Administration, Griffin in Physical Education, and Harriman in Biology.
In total, the NABC honored more than 2,400 student-athletes across all levels of college basketball. Additionally, nearly 400 programs were recognized with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2024–25 season.
