Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Offensive Outburst Leads Beavers to Fourth Straight Victory

FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team led from start to finish, piling up six goals on their way to a 6-0 victory over SUNY Cobleskill in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play Saturday afternoon at Leib Field.

The Records:

The win was Farmington's fourth straight, improving the Beavers to 6-2-0 overall and 4-0-0 in the NAC. Cobleskill remained winless at 0-6-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference play.

How It Happened:

Farmington's attack was powered by senior forward Natalie Tracy (Oakland, Maine) and junior forward Emma Dunn (Farmington, Maine), who combined for five of the team's six goals.

Despite controlling possession early, the Beavers couldn't break through in the opening 15 minutes. Tracy had multiple chances, forcing two saves from Cobleskill goalkeeper Samantha Fausti and sending another shot over the crossbar to keep the game scoreless.

Dunn finally opened the scoring in the 18th minute, using her speed to blow past the Cobleksill defense before calmly slotting a shot past Fausti for a 1-0 lead.

The Beavers doubled their advantage just before halftime. Dunn was taken down in the box in the 42nd minute, setting up a penalty kick for senior Grace Dwyer (Manchester, Maine). Dwyer buried the chance into the lower right corner to make it 2-0 at the break.

The second half belonged to Tracy, who scored three times and added an assist. She struck just three minutes into the half, finishing a feed from Rita Benoit (Hallowell, Maine) for her 11th goal of the season.

In the 72nd minute, Tracy set up Dunn with a cross in front of goal, and Dunn converted to stretch the lead to 4-0.

Tracy then completed her hat trick with goals in the 82nd and 85th minutes. Kyri Meak (Winslow, Maine) assisted on her second, while Benoit picked up the helper on the third.
