Beavers Use Offensive Onslaught to Power Past Moose

AUGUSTA, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team opened its season in dominant fashion on Wednesday afternoon, scoring 11 goals in an 11-0 victory over the University of Maine at Augusta at the Cara Fields. Nine different Beavers found the back of the net in the commanding win.

How It Happened

Farmington's offense started slowly, as the Moose held them scoreless for the opening 21 minutes. Senior forward Natalie Tracy (Oakland, Maine) broke through first, finishing a pass from Jenna Lee (Farmingdale, Maine) to give the Beavers the lead.

UMF closed the half strong with three goals in the final 11 minutes. Emma Dunn (Farmington, Maine) netted an unassisted tally, Kyrie Meak (Winslow, Maine) scored her first collegiate goal, and Grace Dwyer (Manchester, Maine) added her first of the season to make it 4-0 at halftime.

The Beavers kept the pressure on after the break. Mackenzie Rushlow (Corinth, Maine) opened the second-half scoring with the first of her two goals, assisted by Rita Benoit (Hallowell, Maine), pushing the lead to 5-0.

First-year Miah Coffin (Otis, Maine) recorded her first career goal in the 62nd minute, sparking a 14-minute stretch where UMF poured in five more. Tracy and Rushlow each scored again, Sadie Pierce (China, Maine) netted her first collegiate goal, and Benoit added one of her own, making it 10-0.

Senior Tiegan Eisenhaur (Sanford, Maine) capped the scoring in the 88th minute with her first career goal, a well-placed strike into the back of the net.
