AUBURN, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington sophomore Rosie St. Cyr (Pownal, Maine) had a successful Sunday, earning the top spot in a Reynolds Division slalom event hosted at Lost Valley.
St. Cyr was the lone Beaver to complete both runs, and Farmington did not place as a team. Saint Joseph's College of Maine earned the team victory, with its three scoring skiers combining for a time of 3:31.26. Bowdoin College finished second, while the University of Maine placed third.
St. Cyr delivered a pair of flawless runs en route to earning her first gold medal of the season. She was the fastest skier on the course by nearly two seconds, posting a combined time of 1:05.67. St. Cyr completed her first run in 33.73 seconds and followed with a 31.94-second second run.
Senior Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine) did not finish her first run but responded with a strong second run, finishing in 33.15 seconds, the second-fastest time of any skier on the course.
