BRIDGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington women's alpine team claimed second place on Sunday on day two at Pleasant Mountain. Sunday featured a mirror-image event to Saturday, a Reynolds Division giant slalom two-run race.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine claimed the top spot for the second straight day, placing its three quickest finishers inside the top four and combining for a total time of 4:15.27.
Individually, Gabrielle Henry of Colby College topped the podium for the second straight day, finishing her two runs three seconds faster than any other skier on the course.
Beaver Skiers:
For the second time in as many days, the Beavers were led by senior Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine). Caroselli delivered a pair of standout runs, combining for a total time of 1:26.23. She finished the first run in 43.00 seconds and followed with a second run of 43.23 seconds.
Finishing just half a second behind Caroselli was her teammate Rosie St. Cyr (Pownal, Maine). St. Cyr posted run times of 43.66 seconds and 43.13 seconds en route to a combined time of 1:26.79.
With just two skiers finishing the race, the Beavers were forced to take a ghost time in their third scoring position.
