Plymouth State continued to threaten offensively, rattling off three shots in succession forcing Farmington goalkeeper Hailey Johnson (Augusta, Maine) to make numerous point blank saves within an eight-second span to keep the Beavers within striking distance.

The Panthers doubled their lead with just three seconds remaining in the first quarter. Coleman converted on a penalty corner, assisted by Wing, to give Plymouth State a 2-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

The Beavers looked to respond in the second quarter, earning their first penalty corner of the game at the 26:58 mark. Farmington generated a shot from Gabby Vincentsen (Bristol, Maine), but the attempt was blocked by the Panthers' defense. Plymouth State continued to limit the Beavers' offensive opportunities, and Farmington headed into halftime trailing by two goals, mustering the lone shot attempt.

Farmington came out aggressively in the third quarter, upping their offensive pressure, earning three penalty corners and putting three shot attempts on frame in the opening two minutes and 22 seconds of the quarter. Plymouth State goalkeeper Natalie Merrick turned aside all three attempts to keep the Beavers off the scoreboard.

The Panthers responded, extending their lead at the 34:53 mark when Lexi Berrettini scored following a blocked shot, giving Plymouth State a 3-0 advantage heading into the final quarter.
