Trussell Sets New Program Mark and Finishes Inside the Top-Six at Boston University

BOSTON, Massachusetts - University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field senior standout Nate Trussell (Berwick, Maine) traveled to Boston, Massachusetts on Friday to compete in the David Hemery Invitational hosted by Boston University. The senior competed in two events, holding his own against some of the highest level of competition in the country with athletes from all three NCAA divisions.

Trussell kicked off the day by competing in the 60 meter hurdles. In the preliminary round, Trussell posted an impressive 8.42 second time, finishing eighth to qualify for the finals. Trussell kicked it up a notch in the finals, dropping four hundredths of a second, down to 8.38 seconds and jumping into sixth place overall for the event.

Trussell also delivered a standout performance in the 200 meters. The event was ultra-competitive with 119 competitors. Trussell shattered his own program record, posting a time of 22.62 seconds en route to a 71st place finish in the loaded field.
