CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's alpine team raced to a seventh-place finish on Sunday on day two of the USCSA Eastern Regional Championships at Sugarloaf. Sunday's event was a two-run slalom race that followed Saturday's giant slalom event.

With the seventh-place finish on Sunday, following Saturday's fourth-place finish, the Beavers placed fifth overall in the two-day event to clinch a berth in the upcoming USCSA National Championships set to take place from March 9 through March 14 in Lake Placid, New York.

Taking the top three of each institution's five skiers to form the team's combined time, Farmington's three quickest finishers posted a combined time of 4:34.64 en route to their seventh-place finish.

Senior Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine) was the quickest Beaver through the course for the second time in as many days, racing to a 24th-place finish with a total time of 1:29.28 across his two runs. He completed his first run in 48.17 seconds before finishing in 41.11 seconds on his second run.

First-year Magnus Riggs (Fletcher, Vt.) continued his phenomenal rookie season, earning 27th overall after completing his two runs in 1:31.33. Riggs finished his first run in 49.10 seconds and his second run in 42.23 seconds.

Junior Chase Raven (Hudson, Wisc.), who did not race on Saturday for the Beavers, substituted into the lineup on Sunday and made an instant impact. Raven was the third-quickest Beaver, placing two spots behind Riggs in 29th place. Raven posted a time of 1:34.03 with run times of 49.49 seconds and 44.54 seconds, respectively.

Seniors Samuel McKee (Wayne, Maine) and Sam Roy (Frenchville, Maine) also competed on Sunday for the Beavers, but both athletes recorded DNFs on their second runs and did not place.
