KENTS HILL, Maine - Sophomore Rosie St. Cyr (Pownal, Maine) and senior Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine) finished first and second overall on Saturday at the Joanne & Dick O'Connor Alpine Training Center at Kents Hill in a Reynolds Division slalom event.
Saint Joseph's College of Maine edged out the team win as its top three finishers posted a combined time of 3:27.93.
St. Cyr and Caroselli were the only two Beavers to compete on Saturday, forcing them to use a ghost time as their third scorer. Saturday's ghost time was 1:34.22. When combined with the times of St. Cyr and Caroselli, the Beavers finished with a total time of 3:44.89 to place second as a team.
St. Cyr dominated the field and was nearly three seconds faster than any other skier on the course. Across her two runs, she posted a combined time of 1:03.81. She completed her first run in 32.29 seconds and her second in 31.52 seconds, with both times ranking as the fastest by more than a second in each run.
Caroselli finished her first run in 34.01 seconds and sat in third place individually heading into the second run. She delivered an efficient second run, shaving time and finishing in 32.85 seconds. Across her two runs, Caroselli recorded a combined time of 1:06.86 en route to claiming the silver medal.
Megan Cook of Saint Joseph's rounded out the podium, placing third with a combined time of 1:08.32.
