LAKE PLACID, New York - The University of Maine at Farmington women's nordic team kicked off their week at the 2026 USCSA National Championships with a sixth-place finish in Tuesday's 7.5K Classic Interval Start race. As a team, the Beavers totaled 67 points and finished with a combined time of 1:26:53 en route to their sixth-place finish.
St. Olaf College topped the field as a team, as all three of their scorers finished inside the top six and posted a total time of 1:12:15. Individually, Greta Bochenek of Colorado Mesa University earned the gold medal, finishing the race in 23:11.1 to narrowly beat out Amaeli Kam-Magruder of St. Olaf, who placed second overall.
Individually for the Beavers, they were led by senior Ayla Bodach-Turner (East Montpelier, Vt.), who finished the race in 17th place. Bodach-Turner completed the 7.5K course in 27:32.3.
Junior Cora Treiss (Berlin, N.H.) also had a strong race for the Beavers, placing just four spots behind Bodach-Turner in 21st place. Treiss blazed through the course in 28:24.1.
The third Beaver who contributed to the team's placement was senior Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine), who was making her USCSA National Championship debut in nordic skiing. Caroselli placed 32nd overall in the event, posting a time of 30:57.2.
Abbie Dumont (Windham, Maine) and Kelsey McCrum (Greenbush, Maine) did not compete on Tuesday for Farmington.
