MYRTLE BEACH, South Carolina - The University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field team opened their 2026 outdoor season at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The event spanned three days and included 31 teams, as well as a handful of unattached competitors.
The Beavers had six athletes travel to compete, which was not enough to qualify for a team score.
Top Beaver Performances:
First-year Lucas Witkowski (Cromwell, Conn.) delivered the highest finish of any Beaver across the three days, running to a sixth-place finish in the highly competitive 400 meters. Witkowski posted a time of 51.81 seconds.
Sophomore Alex Gagnon (Goffstown, N.H.) also delivered a top-10 finish for the Beavers, placing ninth overall in the 10,000 meters. Gagnon recorded a time of 33:32.87 in a field that included 25 runners.
Nate Trussell (Berwick, Maine) competed in a pair of events and performed well in both. In the 110-meter hurdles, which featured 46 runners, Trussell placed 13th overall with a time of 15.08 seconds.
