STANDISH, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field team turned in a strong showing on Saturday at the 2026 Monks Invitational.
Top Beaver Performances:
Several Beavers delivered standout efforts on the day, highlighted by multiple top-five and top-10 finishes across the meet.
First-year Lucas Witkowski (Cromwell, Conn.) posted a pair of sixth-place finishes in the sprints, clocking times of 11.64 seconds in the 100 meters and 23.61 seconds in the 200 meters.
Logan Burns (Islesboro, Maine) led the way in the 100 meters, placing third overall in 11.56 seconds. Burns also added a top-10 finish in the triple jump, recording a mark of 10.88 meters.
First-year Jordan Castonguay (Sabattus, Maine) turned in a strong performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing fifth with a time of 11:59.47.
First-year Chase Nixon (Milton, Mass.) earned a seventh-place finish in the 100 meters with a time of 11.69 seconds and added a sixth-place showing in the 110-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 19.05 seconds.
First-year Hans Bakke (York, Maine) recorded a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meters (4:40.72), while also placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles (1:04.57) and ninth in the pole vault (2.50m).
Sophomore Samuel Perkins (Jay, Maine) and junior Joseph Burgess (Gray, Maine) competed in the 5,000 meters, placing third and seventh, respectively. Perkins finished in 17:08.87, while Burgess crossed in 18:48.09.
Sophomore Owen Booker (Lisbon, Maine) added a pair of top-10 finishes, placing fourth in the pole vault (3.25m) and 10th in the high jump (1.63m).
Junior Alex Crews (Winslow, Maine) led the field events group with three top-five finishes, placing second in the shot put (14.27m), third in the hammer throw (46.21m), and fourth in the discus (39.56m).
The 4x100-meter relay team of Nixon, Witkowski, Jake Lepper (Blue Hill, Maine), and Booker placed fourth overall with a time of 45.52 seconds.

The Beavers will compete in their final tune-up before the North Atlantic Conference Championship next weekend at the Pine Tree Classic.
