WATERVILLE, Maine - For the third time in as many weeks, University of Maine at Farmington men's track and field standouts
Andrew LaFlamme (Nashua, N.H.) and
Alex Crews (Winslow, Maine) have earned North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly honors. LaFlamme was named the
NAC Co-Track Athlete of the Week, while Crews was selected as the Field Athlete of the Week.
LaFlamme competed in the 10,000 meters at the Silfen Elite Invitational last Friday, racing to a 10th-place finish. He posted a time of 31:52.29, setting the program's all-time record in the event and provisionally qualifying for the New England Championship.
Crews continued his dominant stretch on Saturday, placing inside the top five in three throwing events. He finished second in the shot put (14.27 meters), third in the hammer throw (46.21 meters), and fourth in the discus (39.56 meters).
The junior duo will look to continue their strong outdoor season this weekend at the Pine Tree Classic, hosted by Bates College.
