BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's golf team carded its lowest round of the early season, tying for 10th overall after shooting a 41-over-par 325 on Saturday at the Husson Invitational at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

Husson earned the top spot, shooting an even-par 284 to finish 23 strokes ahead of any other team. Michael Bruce of Husson earned medalist honors after finishing two-under-par with a 69.

Beaver Golfers:

Sophomore Gage Suitter (Bath, Maine) carded the lowest round of the day for the Beavers. Suitter finished nine-over-par with an 80. He started the day strong, opening the round with a birdie on the par-four first hole. He went on to shoot a 38 on the front nine and a 42 on the back nine. Suitter finished tied for 26th overall.

Sophomore Caleb Harvey (Bath, Maine) and first-year Ben Wrigley (Farmington) each tied for 32nd overall, finishing just one stroke behind Suitter with matching scores of 81, finishing 10-over-par. Harvey shot a 39 on the front nine before finishing with a 42 on the back nine. Wrigley carded one birdie, shooting a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine.

First-year Sam Binette (South Paris, Maine) also had a strong day for the Beavers and was the final Beaver to contribute to the team's score. Binette tied for 42nd overall after finishing the round with an 83 (+12). Binette shot a 44 on the front nine but rebounded well on the back nine, finishing with a 39, including a birdie on the 18th hole.

Junior Trent Beaudoin (Farmington, Maine) also had a solid showing for the Beavers, finishing tied for 47th with a 13-over-par 84. Beaudoin matched Binette's 44 on the front nine and shot a 40 on the back nine, recording par on six of the nine holes.
