FARMINGTON, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country standout first-year duo of Mason Tomboni (Selma, Ind.) and Levi Riggs (Phippsburg, Maine) were honored by the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) on Tuesday as they were tabbed Athletes of the Week following their strong showings this past Saturday at the NAC Championship Preview Meet. Tomboni was named the NAC Runner of the Week for the second consecutive week, while Riggs received Co-Rookie of the Week honors.

The duo was instrumental in helping the Beavers post a perfect 15-point score and sweep the field on Saturday. Tomboni posted a time of 27:14.3 across the 8K course, averaging 5:28.7 per mile en route to placing first overall in the event.

Riggs placed fifth overall in the event, running to a time of 28:00.6 with an average mile pace of 5:38.1 and scoring five points for the team in the process.

The duo has gotten off to a fast start this season and will look to play an important role for the Beavers as they push for their fourth consecutive NAC Championship this October.

Farmington will be back in action this Saturday, competing in the Maine State Championship hosted by Bowdoin College.
