BIDDEFORD, Maine - The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team fell behind early and was unable to slow the University of New England offense as the Nor'easters secured a 12-0 victory over the Beavers on Wednesday evening at Barbara J. Hazard Field.

Farmington moved to 0-6-0 overall following the loss, while New England improved to 5-3-0.
How it Happened:
The University of New England controlled the opening minutes of play, but Farmington goalkeeper
Roo Sawyer (Londonderry, N.H.) kept the Nor'easters off the scoreboard with six first-half saves before UNE broke through in the 25th minute. Lexy Brodeur scored off assists from Jill Hodgson and Emily Talbot to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage.
The Nor'Easters doubled its lead in the 33rd minute when Talbot found the back of the net unassisted, putting the Nor'easters ahead 2-0.
UNE continued to pressure the Farmington defense and added a third goal in the 44th minute when Raegan Dillon scored off assists from Lily Carreiro and Silvi Strong, sending the Nor'easters into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
UNE extended its advantage early in the second half when Hodgson scored in the 50th minute, followed by goals from Talbot in the 53rd minute and Mann in the 57th minute to push the lead to 6-0.
Talbot completed her hat trick in the 59th minute when she scored off an assist from Charlotte Jessuck, while Dillon added her second goal of the evening in the 63rd minute off an assist from Rosalie DeSantis. Jessuck found the back of the net in the 65th minute to give UNE a 9-0 advantage.
The Nor'easters added three more goals during the final 25 minutes of play, with DeSantis scoring in the 74th minute, an own goal coming in the 77th minute, and Reese Gordon capping the scoring in the 83rd minute off an assist from Maitri Gilbert as New England secured the 12-0 victory.

Sawyer made six saves during the first half for the Beavers before
Ruthie Gusler (Phillips, Maine) took over between the pipes to begin the second half. Gusler made two saves over the final 45 minutes. Haley Coombs played all 90 minutes in goal for New England and did not record a save while earning the shutout.
