Mrazik, Kowalczyk lead women's soccer

CHICOPEE, Mass. University of Maine-Farmington sophomore forward Jackie Mrazik (Mount Vernon, ME) scored the game's only goal in the 65th minute to send the visiting Beavers to a 1-0 win over the Blazers in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women's soccer game at Leary Field.

UMF won for the second time in its last three games to improve to 2-3, 1-0 NAC. The Beavers are scheduled to visit Becker on Sunday. Elms College had its three-game unbeaten streak snapped and fell to 2-5-1, 1-1-1 NAC.

Following a save by Elms College goalkeeper Shannon Donnelly (Florence, MA) on a shot by freshman forward Chelsea Norton (Westbrook, ME), Mrazik collected the rebound and scored what stood as the game-winner.

Donnelly stopped six shots in the loss.

Senior goalkeeper Kerry Kowalczyk (Topsham, ME) finished with four saves to post her first shutout of the year for the Beavers.
