CASTINE -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team played Maine Maritime Academy to a 0-0 deadlock in the Beavers' season opener today in non-conference action at Ritchie Field.

The Beavers (0-1-1) are scheduled to visit St. Joseph's College Thursday. The match is slated for a 4 p.m. start. The tie for the Lady Mariners improved their overall record to 0-1-1 on the year.

The Beavers outshot the Lady Mariners 11 to 9 in an evenly matched contest.

McKell Barnes (Durham, ME) grabbed the tie for the Beavers making two saves on nine shots.

Lacey Jackson (York, PA) recorded the tie for MMA while making five saves on 11 shots.
