Husson's first-half goal enough to top UMF

BANGOR, Maine -- Husson University blanked the University of Maine at Farmington 1-0 in North Atlantic Conference women's soccer action this evening.

The Beavers (4-9-3 overall, 3-4-1 NAC) are scheduled to host their regular-season finale Saturday at 1 p.m. against NAC foe Johnson State College. The Eagles improved to 7-9 (6-2).

Marcella Francouer's goal just prior to intermission stood up as the game-winner. Francouer scored off an Alexandra Laniewski feed at 42:50 for a 1-0 lead for the Eagles.

Husson outshot the Beavers 15-10 in the match. The Eagles also took eight penalty kicks to UMF's two.

Beth Lebel (Lewiston, Maine) recorded six saves in the loss.

Jessica Poulin stopped six shots for Husson.
