Box Score BANGOR, Maine -- Alyssa Neptune (Readfield, Maine) scored four goals and Emma Morrison (Saco, Maine) tallied three goals and an assist as the University of Maine at Farmington took an 11-2 lead into intermission and came away with an 11-6 win over Husson University in North Atlantic Conference East Division women's lacrosse action today.
The Beavers (3-4 overall, 1-2 NAC East) are scheduled to host Thomas College in divisional play on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Eagles slipped to 3-7 (1-2).
Morrison set the tone for UMF's first half outburst with a goal 50 seconds after the opening draw. After Amanda Mora answered for Husson, Neptune struck twice as the Beavers reeled off the game's next six scores to take a 7-1 advantage with 13:41 remaining in the first. UMF scored four times -- two by Neptune -- over the last 6:52 of the frame to take an 11-2 halftime advantage.
Following Neptune and Morrison, Abbey Gilbert (Wilton, Maine) and Maddi Kadnar (Belgrade, Maine) each recorded a goal and an assist for UMF with Molly Carbin (Scarborough, Maine) and Amie Daniels (Lewiston, Maine) each adding a goal. Morrison registered nine ground balls in the win with Daniels providing seven ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Hannah Goodenow (Freeport, Maine) stopped 13 shots for the Beavers, who were outshot by the Eagles 27-25.
Charlotte Gerhardy led the Eagles with three goals, while Mora, Stephanie Roux and Caitlyn Stauffer each had a score.
Kayla Guerrette took the loss for Husson with four saves in the opening 30 minutes.
