Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine -- Amie Daniels (Lewiston, Maine) scored three goals, including the game-winner, as the University of Maine at Farmington outlasted Thomas College 10-9 in North Atlantic Conference East Division women's lacrosse competition today at Prescott Field.
The Beavers (4-4 overall, 2-2 NAC East) are scheduled to host Saint Joseph's College of Maine in non-conference play Thursday at 4 p.m. The Terriers (3-6, 0-3) are set to host Husson University Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Daniels converted a free-position shot with 2:30 remaining in the contest to give the Beavers a 10-9 advantage. Nateasha Ouellette (Lewiston, Maine) collected the following draw control and UMF maintained possession to finish of the victory.
Daniels led the team with seven ground balls and three caused turnovers in the win, while Emma Morrison (Saco, Maine) and Alyssa Neptune (Readfield, Maine) each netted a pair of goals, Molly Carbin (Scarborough, Maine) and Maddi Kadnar (Oakland, Maine) each added a goal and an assist and Abbey Gilbert (Wilton, Maine) provided a goal.
Brittany Premo (Concord, N.H.) paced the Terriers with three goals, while Ceara DiBiase (Westbrook, Maine) tallied two goals and an assist and Jasmine Ryan (Dayton, Maine) scored twice. Jennifer Day (Gardiner, Maine) had a goal and an assist and Kim Migliara (Mastic, N.Y.) had a goal to complete Thomas' scoring.
Ryan gave the Terriers the lone multiple-goal lead of the game at 4-2 with 16:01 left in the opening half, but Morrison and Neptune each netted an unassisted tally to tie the contest at 4-4 at halftime.
The two teams volleyed the lead in the second half with ties at 5-5, 6-6, 7-7 and 8-8. Ryan tallied an unassisted goal with 3:35 remaining to give the Terriers a 9-8 edge with Kadnar responded off the next draw to even the score at 9-9 with 3:22 left to go to set the stage for Daniels' free-position score on the ensuing UMF possession.
Hannah Goodenow (Freeport, Maine) finished with 11 saves in the victory. UMF held a slight edge in shots at 31-29.
Teshia Cates (Skowhegan, Maine) registered 11 saves in the loss.
