"This was a tale of two halves," said UMaine-Farmington head coach Jon Evan. "In the first half we looked a little bit hesitant and a little bit nervous, and didn't have great chemistry."
"In the second half, we had one of our best halves of soccer this year, so there's a lot to be hopeful for as we go forward. Dahir Muktar had a great goal, and Ibrahim Achekh and Mike Kelly really controlled the midfield, and Jordan Luks created a lot of opportunities for us," said Evan.
Senior
Paul Dupre (Rehoboth, Mass./Xaverian Brothers) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Beavers, recording seven saves. Maine Maritime keeper William Trace Lacour charted a pair of saves.
"Paul has stabilized the goalkeeping position for us and he did a real good job for us today, which allowed our team to get into the attack a little bit more.
UMaine-Farmington plays at home for its next contest, a matchup with St. Joseph's College of Maine on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 4:30 p.m. on Prescott Field.
