Dupre and Tuttle pace UMF past the Owls

FARMINGTON, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer seniors Kayla Tuttle and Renee Dupre each scored twice to lead the Beavers to a 9-0 non-conference win over the University of Maine at Presque Isle, Monday afternoon at Prescott Field.

Tuttle also picked up a pair of assists in the game to finish with six points.

Junior Alexandra Crocker scored the Beavers' first goal, and what proved to be the game winner, in the sixth minute off a corner kick served up by freshman Brittney Sieg. Tuttle scored her first goal also off a corner kick in the 18th minute, and freshman Bridget Humphrey put UMaine-Farmington in front 3-0 in the 24th minute off a cross from junior Ava Amador.

Dupre netted her first goal of the day in the 37th minute off an assist from Tuttle, and sophomore Dayle Jordan rounded out the first half scored with her first collegiate goal in the 41st minute.

Amador, Tuttle, and Dupre added goals in the second half, with Sarah Pokorny closing the scoring in the 82nd minute with an unassisted goal. Shelby Bryant assisted on Tuttle's second goal in the 61st minute, while Brittany Bissell chalked up an assist on Dupre's goal in the 79th minute.

Seniors Beth Lebel and Amy Jones split time in the UMaine-Farmington for the shutout, with Jones forced to make one save. UMPI keeper Amanda Larrabee charted 14 saves in the Owls' goal, as the Beavers outshot UMPI 38-3. UMaine-Farmington also had seven corner kicks to UMPI's two.

UMaine-Farmington returns to conference play this Saturday, Sept. 28, when it hosts Thomas College at 2:00 p.m. UMPI will face Fisher College in a road game on Saturday starting at 1:00 p.m.
