Box Score NASHUA, N.H. -- The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team battled host Rivier University to a 2-2 double overtime tie Sunday afternoon at Raider Field.
The Beavers (0-1-1) struck early as junior Keli McLellan netted her first goal of the season. McLellan collected a well-placed pass into the 18-yard box from freshman Katie Clark, and beat Raider keeper Cassandra Brown in the 22nd minute.
UMF's 1-0 advantage held into the second half, when Rivier's Susan O'Loughlin redirected a blast from Mariah Payne past Farmington keeper Beth Lebel to knot the game at 1-1.
Alexandra Crocker again gave UMaine-Farmington the lead in the 80th minute, breaking free with a through-ball from Bridget Humphrey and beating Brown one-on-one.
Rivier forced the extra sessions with just 3:22 remaining, when Lauren Tamposi scored off a deep ball from Meghan Caron. Neither team was able to produce a game-winning score in either overtime period.
Lebel tallied nine saves in the UMF goal, while Rivier's Brown logged five saves. Each team had eight corner kick opportunities.
The Raiders (0-2-1 overall) will return to the pitch on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Brookline, Mass., to take on Pine Manor College. UMaine-Farmington will travel to Saint Joseph's College in Standish, Maine, on Tuesday for an in-state contest.
