Women's lax ends road trip with 16-4 loss at Emmanuel

BOSTON – Emmanuel College scored six goals before the University of Maine at Farmington even got on the scoreboard and finished with a 16-4 win over the Beavers, in non-conference women's lacrosse action Thursday night at Roberto Clemente Field.

Emmanuel's (7-2) Kristen Tuleja and Sarah Wootten combined for 13 points in the win, with Tuleja charting four goals and three assists and Wootten recording two goals and four assists. Sarah Higgins notched three goals for the Saints, including two of Emmanuel's first four goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

Sophomore Mara Balboni paced UMaine-Farmington (2-4) with two goals, and recorded a team-leading four ground balls. Freshman Jaclyn Langevin and sophomore Ayla Allen each finished with one goal.

Senior Hannah Goodenow recorded five saves in the UMaine-Farmington goal, while Emmanuel's Lauren White also tallied five stops. The Saints outshot the Beavers, 25-11, during the game, and had 19 ground balls to Farmington's 15.

UMaine-Farmington has one day to prepare for its next North Atlantic Conference match, a tilt with New England College on Saturday, April 5, at 4:00 p.m. in Henniker, N.H.
