NEWRY, ME – Freshman Gavin Brickley finished tied for 10th at a very wet, overcast, and cool UMaine-Farmington Invitational on Thursday at the Sunday River Golf Club.
Brickley led the Beavers with a solid 82, leaving him in a four-way tie for 10th. Brickley finished the day seven strokes off the lead behind Saint Joseph's Mike Caron and Maine Maritime Academy's Keenan Kalthaff, both carding a 75.
Junior Simon Rollins added an 88 on the day, putting him in in a four-way tie for 21st place. Juniors Aaron Rivard and Tom Bearor finished five strokes behind Rollins, carding an 88 for the day and a 27th place finish.
The Beavers finished seventh overall as a team with a total of 356. Husson claimed the victory by an eight-stroke margin over the University of New England.
UMF will play again on Saturday, September 13th at the Maine Collegiate Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
