Box Score POULTNEY, Vt. – The UMaine-Farmington women's soccer team (2-4-0) scored four first half goals in a 6-0 shutout over Green Mountain College to earn the Beavers first conference win of the season.
Avalon Amador gave UMF the early lead 2:29 into the game when she netted a goal off an assist from Bridget Humphrey. The goal was Amador's third of the season and leads the team with six points on the season.
Sarah Pokorny increased the margin to 2-0 after Humphrey picked up her second assist of the game in the 10th minute.
Keli McLellan scored her first goal of the season in the 24th minute when she found the back of the net after an assist from Alexandra Crocker.
Crocker kicked the Beavers final goal of the half in the 41st minute. The goal was Kinney's first goal of her UMF career off an assist from Kiana Thompson.
UMF keep the momentum going when Sarah Pokorny made the score 5-0 in the 58th minute when Katie Clark dished a pass her way. Sarah Quimby added the final goal of the game in the 88th minute.
The Beavers generated plenty of offense as UMF outshot the Eagles 27-6 and getting the team back on track after a three game skid. UMF used three goalies to hold the shutout. Sam Hatch controlled the goal and the combo of Thia Bridges and Haley Murano held down the fort in the second half.
UMaine-Farmington continues conference play on Sunday with a short commute from Green Mountain to Castleton for a 2:30pm game.
