Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – Uriah Forest-Bulley matched a career-high with 24 points and nine rebounds as the University of Maine at Farmington (4-10, 3-5) fell to North Atlantic Conference opponent Thomas College, 74-60, on Saturday evening at Dearborn Gymnasium.
The Beavers and Terriers battled toe-to-toe in the first half and took a slim, 27-25, lead into the locker room. Forest-Bulley scored 14 of his 24 points in the first half and was the only UMF player to score double figures in the opening frame.
At the 12:27 mark of the second half, Thomas built a commanding 15-point lead. The Beavers quickly bounced back with an, 11-3, run and trimmed the lead to, 55-48, with eight minutes to play. With Thomas in the double bonus, UMF took advantage from the free-throw line and scored its next five of seven points from the charity stripe.
The UMF defense caused five straight turnovers. Logan Nichols brought the Beavers within a bucket of tying the game after getting a steal and making the fastbreak layup on the other end of the court.
After a Thomas timeout and the scoreboard set at, 60-58, the Terriers closed the game with a, 14-2, run in the final five minutes to defuse the UMF comeback.
Forest-Bulley's career night was a game-high. Nick Hilton finished with 10 points and eight rebounds. Thomas' Mike Akanji led the Terriers with 22 points and hit 6-for-10 from long range.
UMaine-Farmington hosts Castleton on Friday, January 23rd in Dearborn Gymnasium for a 7:30p.m. tip-off.
