UMF's Run for NAC Title Ends at New England College

Box Score

HENNIKER, N.H. – The University of Maine at Farmington (7-10-1) women's soccer team was knocked out of the North Atlantic Conference quarterfinal tournament game on Saturday afternoon with a  5-1 loss at New England College (9-10-1).

NEC's Jaycie Triandafilou tallied her first of five goals in the contest in the 17th minute. Bridget Humphrey (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy) answered with the equalizer less than 45 seconds later, but the Beavers could not generate enough momentum to stop Triandafilou and the Pilgrims' offense.

After the Pilgrims scored a goal under the ten minute mark of the first half, Triandafilou charted a second half hat trick to push NEC into the semifinal game.

Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/Mt. Blue) saved five shots for the Beavers.

UMaine-Farmington's bid for a conference title ends in the quarterfinal round by New England College for the second straight season.
