CASTINE, Maine – Junior midfielder Ayla Allen (Rumford, Maine) scored five goals and assisted one more in the University of Maine at Farmington's (4-6, 3-3), 16-6, North Atlantic Conference win over Maine Maritime Academy on Tuesday afternoon.

Allen scored four first half goals and helped UMF jumped out of the game with five unanswered goals in the first six minutes. Allen scored her first one at the 26:41 mark and Carly Raymond (Topsham, Maine) scored a pair of goals with assists coming from Sierra Gilley (Harpswell, Maine) and Maddi Kadnar (Belgrade, Maine).

After trading scores for two minutes, the Beavers ran off eight of the game's final eleven goals and took a, 13-4, lead into the break. Jaclyn Langevin (Bow, N.H.) had a strong first half with four goals, including a free position goal. Kadnar and Gilley added to the scoring attack with one goal and assist apiece in the first thirty minutes tallied goals in the final half as well.

UMF's defense was strong tonight as Rhi Jackson (Saco, Maine) picked up four ground balls to lead the team, which was enough to break the single-season mark for total ground balls. Jackson broke her own record as she set the season mark last year as a freshman. Patty Smith (Gorham, Maine) was nearly lights out in the cage with three saves on nine shots.

UMaine-Farmington plays its home conference finale on Thursday when New England College pays a visit to Farmington. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
