Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – The University of Maine at Farmington (2-2) scored four unanswered goals in the second half to cap off a, 4-2, comeback victory over Saint Joseph's College on Tuesday evening.
The contest was scoreless for the first 15 minutes before Saint Joseph's Haley DaGraca scored in the 15th minute with the assist coming from Hannah LeBlanc. Five minutes later, LeBlanc recorded a goal of her own by pushing the UNE lead to 2-0.
Early in the final period, Lydia Roy (Waterville, Maine/Waterville) grabbed her third goal of the season with the assist coming from Ashley Gleason (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough). Gleason set Roy up perfectly with a pass into the box and Roy kept her shot low to the ground for the score.
Four minutes later, Bridget Humphrey (Jefferson, Maine/Jefferson) tallied the first of her two goals in the half. Humphrey lined a shot from the left side of the box for the equalizer.
With the game coming down to the wire, Gleason gave UMF its first lead of the day with an unassisted goal in the 77th minute. Humphrey tacked on the insurance goal at the 2:52 mark.
Sam Hatch (Hebron, Maine/Hebron) earned her second road win of the season with four saves.
UMF's win over Saint Joseph's marks the first time since the 2002 and 2003 seasons that the Beavers were able to capture a win from the Monks in back-to-back seasons.
UMaine-Farmington travels to Johnson State on Saturday for its first conference game of the season.
