ALL-TIME AGAINST MAINE MARITIME ACADEMY

The University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer look to continue the success they've had historically against Maine Maritime Academy. Since the two schools first met in 1998, a 5-0 win for the Beavers, UMF has an impressive record of 15-2 vs. MMA. MMA has not beaten UMF since 2009; the Beavers are 5-0 since the loss in Castine.

LAST MEETING VS THE MARINERS

Alexandra Crocker scored a pair of goals as the UMaine-Farmington women's soccer team (4-6) topped Maine Maritime Academy, 3-0, Tuesday evening.

UMaine-Farmington improves to 3-1 in the conference and currently sits tied for third in the NAC standings. The Beavers have won consecutive game and three of the past five.

Crocker netted the first goal of the game nearly nine minutes in the opening half.  UMF took advantage of a corner kick opportunity as Avalon Amador assisted the goal and Crocker's header found the back of the net.

Crocker found herself in a similar situation with 1:02 left in the half with Avalon setting up the goal again. After a Mariner substitution, Avalon's kick landed at the foot of Crocker, who booted a shot past MMA keeper Kelsie Hilton.

The Beavers added the final goal of the game from Bridget Humphrey, who has scored in back-to-back games, in the 84th minute to give UMF the final margin of victory, 3-0.

SCOUTING MMA

The Mariners are tied for the third fewest goals allowed in the conference with 16. Maine Maritime has held its opponents to one or few goals on two separate occasions this year including an opening day, 2-1, win versus Gordon College on September 1.

CONTINUE THE STREAK

UMF has not lost a conference home opener since joining the North Atlantic Conference in 2003. The Beavers look to improve their 11-0 mark to an even dozen on Saturday afternoon. In those 11 games, UMF outscored their opponents 29-4. Farmington has seven shutouts and four games where the team allowed only a single goal over the streak. UMF has also beaten MMA in three home conference openers during this stretch.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

Freshman midfielder, Makayla Lewis has played well early in her career at MMA. Through the first six games of the season Lewis leads the Mariners in points with five. In the team's only conference game the freshman got loose for both a goal and assist, playing a part in both of the team's two goals. She also scored a goal in the season opener against Gordon.

UMF also has a freshman that will be worth watching as well. Ashley Gleason the 5'4" left wing from Scarborough has found early success on the field. Gleason is second on the team in points, with eight, through the first six games. Gleason is always around the play, she has either scored or assisted on 5 of the team's 14 goals this season.
