Colby Takes Non-conference Match-up Over Women's Soccer

FARMINGTON, Maine-  University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer (6-7) dropped a non-conference game to Colby College (6-5) 4-0 on Tuesday at Leib Field.

Through the first 20 minutes of the first half, neither team could produce much offense.  Colby would be the first to break through.  Emily Martin would score at 24:17, giving Colby the 1-0 lead.  The Mules scored two more goals in a span of 13 minutes.  Emilie Klein scored at 33:32 and Catherine Fraser found the back of the net at 37:31 to give Colby a 3-0 lead at the break.

UMF tightened up its defense in the second half only giving up a single goal.  Fraser got her second goal of the game in the 50th minute and gave Colby their final margin of victory.

Samantha Rizzo saved one shot to earn her sixth victory of the season.  Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/ Mt. Blue) would turn back 10 shots.

Colby had a 22-7 shot advantage and an 8-1 corner kick margin.

UMaine-Farmington will return to North Atlantic Conference action when they host Johnson St. on Saturday at Leib Field.  Colby will play at Amherst on Saturday.
