Box Score BRUNSWICK, Maine- University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer (5-5) had its three game win streak snapped by Bowdoin College (7-2) on Wednesday at Pickard Field.
Bowdoin scored five unanswered goals in the first half en route to a 6-0 victory over UMF. Morgan Gallagher recorded the first goal in the 10th minute and Talia Missan scored the second in the 13th minute. Julia Patterson assisted on both goals. Gallagher added her second goal of the contest at 27:46, sparking a three-goal surge over an 11-minute stretch that saw Kate Rusk-Kosa and Kate Morrison add goals, giving the host a 5-0 lead at the break.
UMF would tighten up its defense in the second half, giving up only two shots. Julia Bottone found the back of the net in the 75th minute for the final margin.
Kiana Thompson (Industry, Maine/Mt. Blue) was busy in goal turning away 10 shots. Bowdoin used three different goalies who combined to make four saves.
UMaine-Farmington returns to conference play when they travel to Castleton on Saturday.
