Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. – University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse (2-2, 0-1) fell in the North Atlantic Conference opener with a 19-2 loss at New England College (3-4, 0-1) on Saturday afternoon.
Late in the second half, Sierra Gilley (Harpswell, Maine/Mt. Aratat) recorded her second goal of the season to get the Beavers on the scoreboard. The Beavers caused a turnover in their defensive third and after a successful clear attempt, Mara Balboni (Oakland, Maine/Messalonskee) dished the assist to Gilley for the score.
With three minutes to go in the game, Jaclyn Langevin (Bow, N.H./Bow) tallied her eighth goal of the season on a free position shot.
Alyssa Arsenault (Winthrop, Maine/Winthrop) made five stops for the Beavers in net.
Allison Granata led the Pilgrims with four goals and three assists. Gabriella Bigos and Tara Bainbridge were close behind with three goals apiece.
UMaine-Farmington returns home next Saturday to host NAC preseason favorite Castleton at Prescott Field.
