Box Score GORHAM, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington women's lacrosse (2-5) sophomore Sierra Gilley (Harspwell, Maine/Mt. Aratat) netted a pair of goals on Monday afternoon in a 21-2 non-conference loss at the University of Southern Maine (2-5).
Southern Maine opened the game with a goal after the opening draw control but Gilley came right back with her first goal at the 27:13 mark.
Gilley added UMF's second goal of the afternoon midway through the second half. The Beavers forced a Huskies' turnover and ran it down to their offensive zone where Gilley beat USM's keeper for her sixth goal of the season.
Alyssa Arsenault (Winthrop, Maine/Winthrop) saved 11 shots in goal for UMF.
USM's Hannah Everett tallied a game-high five goals and recorded one assist. Sarah Pelligrinelli added four goals and Shauna Robert contributed three scores.
UMaine-Farmington returns to conference action on Wednesday night when the Beavers host Husson at Thomas College.
