NEW BRUNSWICK, Maine – University of Maine at Farmington women's outdoor track and field placed fifth overall as a team on Saturday afternoon at the Bowdoin Outdoor Invitational.
The combination of Morgan Crocker (Boothbay, Maine/Boothbay Region) and Bridget Humphrey (Jefferson, Maine/Erskine Academy) powered UMF in numerous events. Crocker finished third in the 100m hurdles at 17:78 and tied for third in the long jump at 4.65 meters.
Humphrey placed fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:14.91) and discus throw (32.92m) events.
Molly Menice (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) was a force in the javelin throw with a fourth place finish by tossing her javelin 31.59 meters.
In the 100m dash, four Beavers ranked in the top 12, including Humphrey and Crocker in the top ten. Humphrey came in ninth at 14:25 with Crocker right behind her in tenth place at 14:37. Victoria Marquis followed Crocker in 11th place at 14:47 and Alexis Laliberte (Lewiston, Maine/St. Dominic Academy) rounded out UMF's dominance in 12th place at 14:63.
The women's long jump saw four Beavers earn a top ten finish. With Crocker earning third place, Humphrey placed seventh at 4.24 meters and Kaitlyn Virgin (Mexico, Maine/Mountain Valley) was close behind in ninth at 4.15 meters. Kaleigh Kinney (Presque Isle, Maine/Presque Isle) trailed Virgin in tenth place at 3.90 meters.
The Beavers placed fifth overall on the team leaderboard with 39 points.
UMaine-Farmington will compete at the Colby Invitational next Saturday.
