FARMINGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington men's cross country and track and field athletes Lina Martinez Nocito (Mt. Vernon, Maine) and Monica Lewis (Windham, Maine) were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday afternoon, the organization announced.
The CSC Academic All-District Team honor recognizes student-athletes who are at least sophomores academically while maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Athletically, student-athletes must have finished inside the top 50 at their 2025 NCAA Regional Championship in cross country or be ranked inside the regional top 50 in a single event in either indoor or outdoor track and field.
Martinez Nocito had a fantastic junior campaign, finishing inside the top 50 at the 2025 NCAA East Regional Championship, ranking inside the regional top 50 in a pair of indoor track and field events, and earning a top-50 regional ranking in one outdoor track and field event. At the East Regional Championships, Martinez Nocito paced the Beavers with a 39th-place finish, completing the 6K course in 22:49.3. She finished the indoor track and field season ranked 32nd in the region in the 5,000 meters after posting a converted time of 19:01.95 at the USM Open. She also ranked 44th in the region in the 800 meters with a converted time of 2:27.10 at the Lynn Ruddy Invite. Martinez Nocito concluded the outdoor season ranked 46th in the region in the 5,000 meters after recording a time of 18:49.90 at the Silfen Invitational. A Creative Writing major, Martinez Nocito is slated to graduate in May 2027.
Lewis, a sophomore who competed in cross country as well as both indoor and outdoor track and field, earned her first CSC Academic All-District recognition after ranking 40th in the East Region in the indoor pole vault. Lewis cleared 2.12 meters at the Elm City Classic. She also ranked inside the regional top 50 in the outdoor pole vault, clearing 2.00 meters at the Monks Invitational. Lewis is an Elementary Education major who is on track to graduate in the spring of 2028.
The 2026 Academic All-District® Track and Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes track and field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16, 2026. The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects of the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
