Beavers Iced by Polar Bears

Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's women's soccer team fell to Bowdoin College today by a score of 8-0 in non-conference action on Bob Leib Field.

BY THE NUMBERS
The Polar Bears held the advantage in most of the stat categories, 17-3 in shots and 11-0 in corner kicks while the Beavers had three saves to the Polar Bears two saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Polar Bears got on the board three times early in the opening 15 minutes. Claudette Proctor scored the first goal off a pass from Morgen Gallagher at the 4:57-minute mark. Emma Beane scored the second goal just a minute and a half later.

Morgen Gallagher scored from about 15 yards out at the 11:33-minute mark to put the Polar Bears up 3-0 early on. Two minutes later, Emily Pawlak scored a goal with the assist to Claire Dardinski. Beavers goalie, Kiana Thompson made three saves on the day with a big one at the 28-minute mark to keep the Polar Bears at four goals.

Late in the first half, Talia Missan found the back of the net with the assist going to Kate Morrison. 42 seconds later, Aine Lawlor got into the action with a goal of her own after a cross from Ana Lozada-Smith. The Polar Bears led 6-0 at the end of the first half.

In the second half, the Beavers defense stepped up allowing two goals. Brigit Bergin scored in the opening six minutes with a pass to the middle from Claudetter Proctor. About 20 minutes later, Talia Missan scored on a penalty kick to give the Polar Bears the 8-0 victory.
