Box Score Farmington, Maine – UMaine-Farmington Beavers ran past Thomas College on Saturday afternoon by a score of 5-0 on Leib Field in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action. Lydia Roy led the way with two goals and two assists.
RECORDS
The Beavers move to .500 on the year with a 4-4-0 overall record and a 2-1-0 record in conference play while the Terriers fall to 2-8-0 overall and 1-3-0 in the NAC.
BY THE NUMBERS
The Beavers held the advantage in shots (15-3). Each team took two corner kicks while Thomas made seven saves to Farmington's two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Beavers got on the board early at the 8:12 mark when Kaiti Kinney found the back of the net off a pass from Lydia Roy. Just over a minute later, Roy scored her first goal off an assist from Kaiti Kinney.
About 12 minutes later, Roy scored her second goal from about 15 yards out after a cross from McKenna Brodeur. Late in the first half, Amber McKenzie got a goal of her own to give the Beavers a 4-0 lead going into the half.
Thomas opened up the second half with a shot from Emily Dufour but Kiana Thompson was there to make the save. Midway through the second half, McKenna Brodeur scored a goal off an assist from Lydia Roy.
The Beavers closed out the game with a 5-0 victory.
