Beavers Fall in Season Opener

Standish, Maine – UMaine-Farmington held a tough battle against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Friday night with an 18-2 loss at the SJC Athletic Complex in non-conference action.

IN THE BOX

  • Keilly Lynch scored both goals of the Beavers to go along with two ground balls.
  • Samantha Cross tallied four ground balls while Carly Raymond notched three ground balls and four shots.
  • Elyse Caiazzo scored seven goals for the Monks which is a program record on eight shots while notching eight draw controls and three caused turnovers.
  • Kara Kelly and Madison Beaulieu each added three goals while Kayla Kelly and Samantha Medlin added two goals.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • UMF took 10 shots to the Monks 41 while SJC notched 27 ground balls with the Beavers tallying 19. Heather Boland made 18 saves while Kaylin Mansir made six saves. \

The Beavers will be on the road on Monday as they head to Elms College for a 6:00 PM start time.
