Beavers Advance to NAC Championship after 2-1 Victory over Husson

Castine, Maine – UMaine-Farmington's women soccer team advances to the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) championship after a 2-1 overtime victory against Husson University in the semifinal game on Friday night in Castine, Maine.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Alexa Thayer scored early to give the Eagles a 1-0 lead after beating the keeper to the right.
  • Fern Calkins scored two minutes later to tie the game off a corner kick from McKenna Brodeur.
  • The second half was played even with nine shots from Farmington and two shots from Husson.
  • McKenna Brodeur scored the game-winner a minute and nineteen seconds into the overtime period to give the Beavers a 2-1 victory and to advance to the NAC Championship.

UP NEXT

The Beavers will play Maine Maritime on Sunday for the North Atlantic Conference Championship.
