DELHI, New York – Daniel Mickiewicz carded a pair of birdies and produced the low round of day two at the 2021 North Atlantic Conference Men's Golf Championship, leading the Beavers to a fifth-place finish at the event which concluded Sunday.
Mickiewicz birdied a pair of par 4 holes – no. 4 and no. 17 – and made par on eight other holes to finish the round with a nine-over 80 on the par 71, 6,459-yard course at The College Golf Course at Delhi. That score, coupled with his 87 in Saturday's opening round, gave him a 167 (+25) for the tournament and tied for 19th.
Neil Larochelle III carded an 86 (+15) in Sunday's second round, giving him a 36-hole score of 160 (+18). He was the top UMaine-Farmington finisher on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 13th place.
Chris Frey shot an 85 on Sunday, a three-stroke improvement over his first-round score, and 173 (+31) for the tournament, putting him tied for 27th on the individual leaderboard. Ryan Sargent was 32nd with a 176 (+34) for the tournament after firing an 88 in Sunday's round.
Jack Burton rounded out the UMaine-Farmington team at the NAC championship with an 88 on Sunday, a two-stroke improvement from his Saturday performance, and carded a 178 (+36) for the tournament. He finished tied for 33rd on the leaderboard.
UMaine-Farmington carded a 339 on Sunday, giving the Beavers a 36-hole score of 676 (+108) and a fifth-place overall finish – an improvement over UMaine-Farmington's seventh-place showing at both the 2018 and 2019 NAC tournaments.
Husson University won the 2021 NAC championship with a 36-hole total of 589 (+21), and will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship in May 2022 in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida. Husson golfers Max Woodman and Will Kavanaugh were co-medalists of the event with two-day totals of 145 (+3).
