Box Score FARMINGTON, Maine – Plymouth State reserve Jordan Meier's goal in the 33rd minute lifted the Panthers past the host University of Maine at Farmington women's soccer team, 1-0, in a non-conference matchup on Saturday afternoon at Leib Field.
McKenna Brodeur had UMaine-Farmington's best chances at finding the equalizer on a pair of scoring opportunities in the second half.
Brodeur's attempt in the 60th minute from 30 yards out sailed over the crossbar, and her second crack at the Panther goal from long range in the game's waning seconds went wide of the mark.
UMaine-Farmington keeper Callie Hammer recorded 17 saves, three shy of her career high, to keep the Beavers within striking distance of the visiting Panthers.
Plymouth State finished the day with a 36-4 advantage in total shots, and charted 19 corner kicks to UMaine-Farmington's two.
UMaine-Farmington women's soccer returns to action this Wednesday, Sept. 8, when the Beavers travel to Brunswick, Maine, for a meeting with Bowdoin College. Game time is slated for 4:30 p.m.
