Beavers Finish 2nd in Photo Finish

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington women's alpine team finished in second place, just a second and a half behind Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday in a Reynolds Division slalom event held at Sugarloaf. The Beavers finish with 11 place points led by Hokulani Caroselli (Temple, Maine) and Rosie St. Cyr (Pownal, Maine) who finished first and second respectively.

Beaver Skiers:

Caroselli finished her strong start to the 2025 season by earning her first gold medal and her second medal in two days. Caroselli topped the field by 0.12 seconds finishing with a two-run time of 1:12.19. Her first run clocked in at 35.46 seconds and she finished her second run with a heat-leading time of 36.73 seconds.

St. Cyr earned the first medal of her collegiate career, taking home silver after finishing her two runs with a time of 1:12.31. St. Cyr led the field after the first run with a time of 34.57 seconds. Her second run came in at 37.74, a second behind Caroselli.

Senior Grace Mahmood (Oxford, Conn.) was the third Beaver to contribute to the team's overall finish. Mahmood placed eighth finishing her two runs with a combined time of 1:19.34. Mahmood finished her first run with a time of 38.74 seconds and her second run with a time of 40.60 seconds.

Caroselli, St. Cyr, and Mahmood combined for a time of 3:43.84 in their second place effort. The Monks grabbed first place with a team time of 3:42.34.

Fallon Smith (Nelson, N.H.) also finished for the Beavers but did not contribute to the team's total time. Smith finished with a two-run time of 1:27.86.

The Beavers return to action next Saturday at Pleasant Mountain for a Reynolds Division Giant Slalom event.
