Roy Leads Beavers to Weekend Sweep at Pleasant Mountain

BRIDGTON, Maine - University of Maine at Farmington junior Sam Roy (Frenchville, Maine) topped the podium for the second time in as many days, leading the Beavers to the weekend sweep at Pleasant Mountain and their fourth win in as many events.

The top-three finishers for the Beavers combined for a total time of 4:07.64, just 0.22 seconds in front of Saint Joseph's College of Maine to earn the victory in Sunday's Reynolds Division giant slalom event.

Top Beaver Skiers:

Roy earned the top-spot, finishing with a two-run time of 1:21.56. Roy's time was just 0.20 seconds in front of his teammate Lake Lindelof (Belfast, Maine). Roy trailed Lindelof by 0.19 seconds after his first run, finishing it with a time of 41.80 seconds. Roy finished his second run with a time of 39.76 seconds, the only time that was sub-40 seconds.

Lindelof earned the silver medal, finishing his two runs with a combined time of 1:21.76. Lindelof finished his first run with a time of 41.61 seconds and sat atop the field. Lindelof finished his second run in 40.15 seconds and narrowly missed out on his second gold medal of the season.

Lance Dolan (Coplin Plantation, Maine) was the third Beaver to contribute to the team's overall placing. Dolan finished with a two-run time of 1:24.32, placing sixth overall. Dolan finished his two runs with times of 43.69 seconds and 40.63 seconds respectively.

Senior Colgan O'Keefe (Westchester, N.Y.) finished just behind Dolan, finishing with a total time of 1:24.94 across his two runs. O'Keefe finished his first run in 43.02 seconds and his second run in 41.92 seconds.

Jay Schwartz (Bedford, Mass.) also finished inside the top-ten, placing eighth overall. Schwartz finished with a cumulative time of 1:26.65 with a first run time of 44.45 seconds and a second run time of 42.20 seconds.

UP NEXT

The Beavers return to action on Saturday, February 1st at Kents Hill in another Reynolds Division giant slalom event. The race will be a Morgan's Message Awareness Race as selected by the Division.
